Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplined environment on a variety of project types and scales. Working on innovative projects and collaborating with cross functional teams to drive results from concept to completion. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with a deep understanding of Science & Technology, specifically within the Healthcare industry.   The candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems and products that contribute to advancing facilities in the Healthcare and broader Science & Technology market sectors.

Responsibilities:

Complete assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client-specified criteria and applicable codes and standards, review junior team members' work for quality and training requirements.

Coordinate with multiple disciplines and act as the lead mechanical engineer to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule, while managing the project’s Mechanical team, including HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.

Organize and conduct site visits to collect data and evaluate mechanical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects.

Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to support product development decisions.

Drive innovation through continuous improvement initiatives and research in emerging technologies relevant to healthcare applications.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.

Act as a subject matter expert on mechanical engineering principles and practices within the healthcare sector.

Participate in project meetings, offering expertise and guidance to ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines.

Respond to client questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications and field observations during construction.

Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.

Qualifications:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain is highly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited program.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, with a focus on design in healthcare and/or science and technology industries.

Proven track record of successful project management from concept through construction and close-out.

Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD) and proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., Trane Trace 3D, etc.).

In-depth knowledge of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, FGI and ISO standards) applicable to healthcare products.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems and optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
