The Opportunity
As Halo ramps up volume on its initial pilot production line, we are seeking a process engineer to help develop wafer fabrication processes to fill customer needs and maintain production processes for a variety of tools such as grinders, polishers and cleaning systems. This particular role will focus especially on equipment/processes for removing particulates and contamination from wafers, including wet bench systems and brush based wafer cleaning equipment.
Job Description
As a senior process engineering engineer, you will have the following responsibilities
Serve as the primary process engineer responsible for wafer cleaning at Halo Industries, including immersion and brush based-cleaning
Work with 3rd party to suppliers to evaluate best-in-industry cleaning practices for SiC wafers and determine roadmap for process improvements
Conduct hands-on experiments to optimize performance, cost, and throughput of wet bench and brush-based cleaning processes
Respond to customer feedback and identify opportunities for quality improvement
Develop robust quality control procedures to ensure highest standard of cleanliness is maintained for all customer shipments
Analyze metrology data from defect and particle measurement tools in order ensure process is running properly and troubleshoot and sources of contamination
Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining tool health and actively identifying any chemical safety hazards
Work creatively and cross-functionally with other teams at Halo make process improvements, identifying sources of contamination originating from other processes or helping implement cleaning processes to improve yield across the line
Collect, summarize and present results to other team members
Requirements
Preferred Education & Experience
The ideal candidate is an MS or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience (or BS with 5+ years of relevant experience) in engineering, science or a related discipline. Candidates with higher levels of experience are also welcome to apply.
What We’re Looking For
Outstanding detail-oriented analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically to diagnose issues and optimize complex processes
Experience with a variety of wafer-cleaning processing equipment, including immersion tanks, ultrasonics/megasonics, and brush-based cleaning equipment.
Extensive experience with chemical safety procedures around wet bench equipment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a proactive “can do” attitude
Bonus
Strong data analysis or programming skills using software such as JMP or Minitab
or a language such as Python or Matlab
Experience with statistical process control in a high-precision manufacturing environment
Experience with design-of-experiment methodology
