Overview:
This position is for 2nd shift only. Position supervises up to 20 salaried employees and represents personnel and supports first shift supervisor on an as required basis.
Primary responsibilities will be to manage Electric Boats warehouse material for Virginia, Columbia Classes and Maintenance and Modernization work, as well as Groton receiving, rejection cage, and government furnished material.
Primary responsibilities are, but not limited too: goal setting, establish a high quality standard that personnel are expected to achieve or exceed, meet or exceed departments cost goals and initiatives for both direct and indirect costs, ensuring quality workmanship, promoting and meeting safety goals, support process improvement initiatives and create a positive team environment. Candidate will ensure material is properly marked and protected, segregated in accordance with NSI 500 specifications, ensure timely receipt and issue of material, achieve or exceed 98% inventory accuracy levels, and promote innovative thinking in the cognizant areas to promote safety and cost reduction. Candidate will be responsible to organize material and assign work in a cost effect manor while creating a safe friendly working environment for labor and equipment. Candidate is required to ensure timely support to all customers, promote processes that support maintaining and exceeding material availability goals, evaluate personal and provide discipline as required. Candidate will be responsible to support the implementation of the new Oracle business system into the receiving area first, then work with their peers to support implementation across all of Material Control.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of a degree a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency and a minimum of 7 years of experience in warehousing and/or material management
4+ years of warehousing and/or material management experience
Demonstrated leadership experience
Applicant must possess or be able to secure secret or higher DOD clearance
Preferred:
Experience in material conveyance and/or process improvement
Skills:
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
Demonstrated ability to satisfy multiple customers with competing priorities and maintain program schedules is essential
Strong organizational skills
Ability to analyze, think critically, and determine practical solutions to compliance and technical issues
MS Office Proficiency
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
