Overview:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our resort property. This role involves responding to work order requests, performing general maintenance tasks, and assisting with property upkeep, while maintaining a positive guest experience.

There are housing opportunities available in single space units and there are dorm style units. If housing is secured for this role, you will be on call one week of the month. 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work Order Management: Respond to and document associate and guest work order requests.

General Maintenance: Conduct maintenance in guest units, common areas, and equipment, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Team Collaboration: Work with maintenance associates to support property upkeep and resolve issues.

Property Walkthroughs: Perform regular safety and maintenance inspections, addressing repairs as needed.

Checklists and Logs: Complete maintenance checklists and maintain logs for pools, spas, ice, and snow removal.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and repairs on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Task Documentation: Maintain clear records of tasks on daily timesheets and work orders.

Communication: Update management promptly regarding incomplete tasks or unsafe conditions.

On-Call Duty: If offered employee housing, be available for on-call duties at least one week per month.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:

Communication: Proficient in English (written and spoken).

Computer Literacy: Ability to log in and use Windows 7 and 10, Google Chrome, Outlook, Excel, and Google Sheets.

Building Systems: Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical operations, and general repairs.

Tool Usage: Understanding of hand and power tools; basic mechanical skills in plumbing, electrical, and repairs.

Customer Service: Approach maintenance requests from guests and owners with professionalism and competence.

Abilities:

Flexible Schedule: Available to work holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Task Management: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and manage workflow.

Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with co-workers and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Reading and Writing: Able to read safety rules, operating instructions, and write routine reports.

Physical Tasks: Perform basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing tasks.

Education and Experience:

Education: High school diploma, GED, or vocational training.

Certifications: Willingness to obtain pool and spa CPO training and certification.

Experience: Relevant experience in maintenance or related fields is preferred.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs without assistance.

Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach consistently.

Work safely on ladders and roofs at heights up to 30 feet.

Work in confined spaces and endure temperature fluctuations indoors and outdoors.

Moderate to high noise levels may be present in the work environment.
