Job Description
A Jr. Sous Chef must also be able to give orders within their section, as well as reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef. A successful Jr. Sous Chef is accepting of constructive criticisms and has a desire to grow one's culinary and professional skill set and that of their team.
Oversee the preparation and cooking of food at The Restaurant at JUSTIN
Work in all stations for lunch service, manage daily kitchen prep work and station set-up before service and maintain the highest quality food preparation standards
Prepare, cook, and present culinary dishes; enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen; and troubleshoot any problems that may arise
Communicate with The Farmstead with regards to needed products
Support teammates in managing their time, prep, and mentoring the quality and efficiency of work
Support the ordering and inventory control and ensuring that needed ingredients are ordered
Train lower-level staff in their department and holding them accountable
Maintain organization of walk-ins, dry storage, and other kitchen storage areas
Work with the Chef and Chef de Cuisine to create seasonal-appropriate dishes
Support the Restaurant with prep & execution of Events and Lunch
