Overview:

The Senior PMO Manager provides oversight and direction to the individual Project Managers through all facets of their projects. Responsibilities include all deliverables within the project development lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, requirements analysis, and the overall implementation of the project plan and related tasks for all assigned projects.

The Senior PMO Manager takes lead on complex issues with many different stakeholder groups (consultants, external contractors, stakeholders) and leads the internal/external teams to drive project success.

This role and its function are part of the Information Technology shared services model. A Team Member in a shared service structure, works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise wide, and typically have established Service Level Agreements.

Responsibilities:

Develops and implements project management on all assigned projects ensuring project budget, schedule, and quality are at the forefront of each decision made on behalf of the project sponsors.

Manages the overall delivery of multiple complex project deliverables, accountable for completion of projects and activities within established timelines.

Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.

Works closely with management to make recommendations to solve problems or issues that arise in the assigned projects.

Provides services including planning, scheduling, cost-estimating, and risk assessment to the company’s portfolio of assigned development projects.

Provides direction and coaching on project specific tasks to internal stakeholders and internal project management resources.

Participates in discussions regarding evaluation of potential projects and capital planning for the enterprise.

Manages Project Team to create and execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Regularly report progress to Senior Management.

Quickly identifies and frames risks, issues, and ensures timely resolution or escalation.

Works with individual Project Managers to ensure they understand the specific organizational goals their project is expected to achieve and assists with initial set up of their project.

Facilitates productive working relationships with various stakeholder groups, including senior enterprise leadership, tribal government, and other business partners.

Uses metrics to demonstrate progress and provides concise overviews to Senior Management for use in planning.

Able to successfully elicit functional and non-functional requirements from busy project sponsors.

Supervises Team Members and works laterally with those in affected departments.

Hires, trains, develops, empowers, coaches, counsels, conducts performance and salary reviews, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, disciplines, and recommends terminations as appropriate.

Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED Certificate.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Planning, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Project Management Certification (PMP) or relevant Development Organization experience is required.

Seven years of experience in strategic program development, implementation, and project management experience.

Demonstrated experience successfully delivering projects with budgets over $1M using waterfall or scrum methodology.

Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and the internet.

Intermediate proficiency in project management software (Jira/Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)

Native American hiring preference applies.
