Busy orthodontic practice is looking for a motivated, outgoing, someone that likes hands on treatment, enjoys working with teens/pre-teens and friendly assistant to join our team! Must be able to work in a fast paced office and always maintain a great attitude and superior customer service.
This is a full time position (approximately 32-36 hours per week). Relevant orthodontic experience preferred.
JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of the orthodontic dental assistant is to provide clinical care and ensure a positive experience for our patients. This includes welcoming the patient to the office, seating them, reading the chart and setting up for the doctor. Once seated, the DA checks the patients treatment progress and advises the doctor on patient oral health and any questions or concerns they may have. The DA should be able to successfully fit orthodontic bands, tie arch wires, take impressions, assist in cementing bands and bonding brackets, and perform all necessary cleaning and sterilization practices. Careful attention to detail is necessary to maintain a high level of patient care. One primary responsibility of the DA is to communicate with patients to educate and motivate patients throughout the treatment process.
This position will travel between our Nampa, Meridian, Star, Fruitland, and Garden City offices.
Requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Orthodontic experience and clinical proficiency with a variety of orthodontic appliances is preferred, but not required.
A candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying in arch wires and taking consistent, accurate impressions.
Good computer skills are also required.
The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the desire and ability to learn new skills and work well with a team.
