Job Overview:

Shriners Children's Lexington has an opportunity for a Radilogy Technologist to join our team.

Closed weekends and major holidays.

Observe nine holidays: New Year, Martin Luther King, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.

Parking is paid by Shriners, no cost to the employee.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the performance of diagnostic imaging services as requested by members of the Medical Staff and under the guidelines set by the standards of the Radiology Department.

The Technologist will present a pleasant and helpful manner exhibiting courteous behavior when dealing with all customers; recognizing that a Radiographer's performance is an indicator the public uses to judge a department's professional level.

Quality images are produced as outlined by image critique and department protocols.

Orders are prepared accurately, 

Can manipulate machine for proper film acquisition.

Demonstrates ability to manipulate and label images.

Must be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program. Hold both the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification/registration and Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) state license. 

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, required.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, required. 

Licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky cabinet for Human Resources, holding a General Radiation Operator Certificate, required. 

Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association required

Preferred:

One year of clinical experience over and above that received in the educational program in radiography preferred.

Experience with intraoperative procedures and pediatric/orthopedics preferred.

Knowledgeable of the physical and psychosocial needs of age specific groups in the environment of care.
