Overview:

NaphCare is hiring an experienced Behavioral Health Technician like you at the Arizona Department of Corrections – Yuma located in Yuma, Arizona.  Full Time Shifts, Part Time, PRN shifts are available.  PRN shifts and hours vary based on coverage needs for FT shifts and will be determined by site leadership and prn employee availability.

Pay rates from $22.00 - $30.00 per hour based on employment status, shift, specific facility, site needs, licensure, and experience.   Shifts and hours vary based on coverage needs and can be discussed upon interview.

Responsibilities for Behavioral Health Technician:

Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings

Implement interventions for patients

Supervise patients and provide formal education in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.)

Plan activities programming and leisure activities

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of records pertaining to patient mental health, and scheduling, setting up, operating and supervising telepsychiatry appointments

Qualifications for Behavioral Health Technician:

Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases

Experience working in a correctional environment preferred

Must show current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification

Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/Sciences, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field

Level 1 Psychiatric Technician Certification from the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians preferred, not required

Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness required
