Overview:
FedWriters is building a team to support corporate communications, public affairs, visual information, and technical library support for ongoing initiatives supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). As a Senior Communication Specialist, you will provide comprehensive communication support for public relations, media relations, and community engagement programs. This position will work onsite at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, VA.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research, interviews, and write/edit articles, feature stories, news releases, and statements, supporting communication initiatives for events like the Surface Navy Association Symposium and the annual Sea Air Space Exposition
Support employee communication programs and products, ensuring clear and effective internal communication
Manage media relations and community relations programs, enhancing NSWCDD's public presence and engagement
Provide photography support and develop digital signage content to augment existing staff efforts in delivering impactful communication messages
Qualifications:
Must possess an active Secret clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, and 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of experience in public relations, public affairs, or journalism
Proficiency in Newport Enterprise Realtime Development Server (NERDS), Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, AVS Video Converter, and screen capture software
Proven ability to support employee communication programs and products, media relations programs, community relations, special events, and provide photography support.
