Overview:
The Workforce Development (WD) Organization is looking for a motivated employee dedicated to improving Design & Engineering organizational effectiveness to work as an Engineering & Design Development Lead supporting all training development initiatives for Design & Engineering within the Engineering & Design Organizations. EB needs to arm Designers & Engineers with the technical skills they need to be successful in all aspects of ship design and construction support. Reporting to the Chief of Training for Engineering and Design, this position will be responsible for the growth and success of the Design & Engineering organizational development.
The main focus for this position will be to work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the curriculum development team to develop the content for the Designer & Engineering organizations. Once the curriculum is developed, the execution and implementation of the program will be the responsibility of thee successful candidate. Additionally, this position must track and periodically provide management with metrics to validate the effectiveness of all programs in their cognizance.
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and project management skills. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work with Design & Engineering supervision and management to determine required skills to ensure uninterrupted performance on current and future work
Identify and work with SMEs to gather technical information about required skills
Collaborate with the curriculum development team to guide the development of quality curriculum and determine the best method of delivery for the content
Work with Proficiency Developers in other areas of EB to leverage curriculum that is already in-use for skill development
Regularly interface with Design & Engineering leadership to provide feedback and take new actions in support of these organizations.
Qualifications:
Required:
2 year degree.
2+ years of relevant experience in EB Design or Engineering
Preferred:
Experience with curriculum development process or training development
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Enginering or math
Skills:
Skills:
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, EWP, 7G, etc.
Teamwork and collaboration
Learns and adapts quickly to a demanding and changing environment
Leads teams through change while being a positive change agent
Strong organizational ability
Effective technical communication (verbal and written)

Prioritization skills
