Overview:

As the Retail Operations Manager, you will lead key projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our retail operations. We're looking for a dynamic individual with robust project management skills, a deep understanding of retail processes, and the ability to lead multiple projects across different teams within our organization. You will collaborate closely with departments like Purchasing & Merchandising, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, and Store Management to drive initiatives that improve operational excellence, enhance the customer experience, and support our sales and profitability objectives.

Responsibilities:

Lead all Company-Owned Retail projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget

Develop and maintain tools and resources, such as Playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures for Operating Partners and company-owned stores

Provide training on new processes, tools, and resources created for Company-Owned Retail

Create and maintain tools and trackers for the Development Company leadership team

Collaborate with other internal departments including Purchasing, Finance, and Human Resources on joint projects that require Development Company store execution to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables

Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams by establishing regular cross-functional meetings and encouraging open dialogue to share insights, address challenges, and align on common goals

Serve as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues

Use data-driven insights to inform project decisions, measure the success of initiatives, track key performance indicators, and report on project outcomes

Support other Retail Operations teams (Sales Operations and Retail Experience) as needed

Demonstrate knowledge of all day-to-day operational policies and procedures

Maintain in-depth knowledge of Fleet Feet’s policies and procedures reducing risk and maintaining compliance

Assist with field support as needed, including but not limited to large expos, events, and store/market visits.

Able and willing to travel 20-30% of the time

Perform other duties and assignments as required

Qualifications:

3-5+ years of project management experience with a focus on retail operations

Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management

Strong business acumen with a results-driven mentality

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and training techniques

Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in Excel and project management software

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Passionate, positive, self-motivated, and thorough

Collaborative and customer-centric approach

Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Commitment to enhancing the customer experience through operational excellence

Willing to go above and beyond when needed

Professional communication skills with internal and external partners.

Experience with retail management systems (e.g., POS, inventory management) required

Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions

Additional Requirements:  Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling.  The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc.  The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements.  The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
