Overview:
Alpha Paving Industries LLC is the industry leader in the Central Texas for paving and pavement maintenance. We are currently taking applications for a full-time Quality Control/1B Technician to join our asphalt paving division. We are searching for candidates that are punctual, dependable, flexible, team oriented, safety conscientious, and hard working.
Responsibilities:
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Performs sampling and testing to ensure products meet mix specification
Demonstrates understanding for customer needs and provides superior service for internal/external customers
Stays current on local municipalities and state mix requirements to ensure compliance in local market
Ability to troubleshoot problems that occurred during paving operation
Works effectively with testing labs, inspectors, and clients
Accurately uses measuring devices to collect samples
Must have some basic asphalt paving materials knowledge
Ability to maintain accurate records and use basic computer software including Microsoft Windows and Excel
Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold weather conditions
Knowledge and ability to perform mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, multiplication, percentages and weights)
Must be able to work nights or weekends
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Skills and Requirements
High school diploma or GED Equivalent
TXDOT 1B certification preferred ability to get certified
HMAC experience is a plus
OSHA training is a plus
Construction and related field experience
Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Must have the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid Texas driver’s license. All individuals that are required to drive must be insurable with the company policy.
Spanish speaking highly preferred
Must pass drug screening and criminal background check
