Overview:
CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. CENTERS' management approach is customized for each client yet retains our uniform quality. Our firm unites site staff with a centralized administrative team, each contributing to the firm's goals and client needs. The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious for both CENTERS and our clients. Today, CENTERS provides management services for 14 clients.
Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide quality fitness instruction to all clients and potential clients, regardless of ability level, fitness level, experience, appearance, or otherwise
Communicate effectively with supervisor through phone, email, or in person
Enforce all program policies and procedures as related to fitness services
Enforce all facility policies and procedures, and assist as needed during emergencies
Maintain accurate records as assigned, and submit reports to supervisor
Attend all personal trainer staff meetings and other department meetings as directed
Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications and complete all audit skills testing
Possess current accredited personal fitness training certification from a professional organization recognized by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
Maintain certification in personal training, or obtain certification. Examples of certifying agencies include: ACE, ACSM, IFPA, NASM, NCCPT, NCSF, NESTA, NETA, NFPT, NSCA, PTA Global, Inc., The Cooper Institute, etc
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Experience training fitness clients
Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications and nationally recognized, personal fitness training certification
Leadership and motivational abilities
Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm
Excellent organizational, and written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of standard practices in fitness and recreational areas
Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
Preferred Requirements:
Additional experience training small groups of fitness clients
Competencies:
Technical Competencies
Proficiency with Fitness Assessment Equipment, including but not limited to: Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, Body Fat measurement with calipers, Waist to Hip Ratio, Cardiovascular Testing, Muscular Strength and Endurance Testing, and Flexibility Testing
Proficient with Exercise Prescription and developing progressive workouts for clients
Basic computer competency
Professional Competencies
Ability to handle customer service issues as related to fitness activity
Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and professional staff
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively and efficiently
Human Relations:
Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.
