Summary
The Program Manager of Medical Informatics leads the identification and design of physician facing technologies that optimize the provider experience at CommonSpirit Health and support quality, safety, and operational efficiency goals. This role will directly partner with Clinical Informatics, IT, and divisional clinicians to ensure a gold standard in electronic health record (EHR) deployment, optimization strategy, and clinical workflow standardization.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with System and Divisional teams (i.e.: Clinical Informatics, IT, and clinicians) to identify technology gaps and opportunities, with special attention on impact of the EHR and related technologies on provider user experience. Participates in EHR road mapping to ensure gaps are addressed and provider needs are advocated for in implementation strategy.
Participates in and leads the development of clinically led and informatics-supported EHR operational readiness governance models with special consideration to improving quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Supports clinically-led groups associated with the EHR governance process.
Leads large scale projects and initiatives focused on improving the provider experience through process and platform enhancements at CommonSpirit Health. Supports training and participates in additional projects and initiatives to advocate for workflows and features that support providers, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Supports and monitors implementation of processes to ensure alignment with regulatory, clinical and compliance requirements and standards in EHR implementation.
Promotes and supports the use of analytics to optimize EHR and associated technology implementation and provider experience at CommonSpirit Health. Partners with Clinical Informatics to ensure tools are accessible to and understood by those who support clinicians. Participates in data driven adjustment of operational readiness and implementation strategy using aforementioned analytics.
Qualifications:
Required:
5 years of informatics-related work experience
Information Technology Principles, Practices and Techniques
Ability to lead large-scale projects and initiatives
Strong understanding of EMR platform design, optimization, and support
Applicable CommonSpirit Health Policies, Procedures, and Information Technology Systems
Written and oral communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Clinical certification or licensure
Project Management certification (PMP, CompTIA, etc.)
