Overview:
M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital is looking for a dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our Birthplace Team. Are you ready to join this exciting Department and make a difference in people's lives?
We are a combined labor & delivery, recovery, post-partum (LDRP) unit with a level II special care nursery (SCN). The department has a total of 26 beds for labor and post-partum care along with 6 special care nursery beds. The MCC provides care delivery services for patients at 34 weeks gestation or greater.
The department nurse manager position would be accountable for LDRP and SCN areas. This position is further supported by 2 Patient Care Supervisors who directly report to the nurse manager.
The Nursing Manager leads nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, this includes nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.
Plans, handles, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
Leads equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.
In addition, the Nurse Manager:
Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.
Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.
In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered.
Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.
Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.
Qualifications:
Required
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing, a Master’s degree is nursing will be required.
Experience
Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.
License/Certification/Registration
Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
BLS certification
Preferred
Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing
License/Certification/Registration
ANCC or AONL Certification
