Accounting/Finance Indirect Tax Lead

ST PAUL - Hybrid, Minnesota

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTING/FINANCE INDIRECT TAX LEAD

We are on the lookout for an Indirect Tax Expert to join our Corporate Tax Group. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, capable of building robust relationships across the business through effective communication. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of various indirect taxes, including sales and use, motor fuel, and agronomy taxes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee the taxability of our clients products and services

* Ensure compliance by applying tax statutes and regulations

* Handle indirect tax queries from internal departments and external tax jurisdictions

* Conduct complex indirect tax audits

* Prepare indirect tax returns requiring a high level of expertise

* Respond to inquiries and resolve notices/assessments from taxing jurisdictions and regulatory agencies

SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field

* 7+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Tax Accounting

* CPA certification and Master of Business Taxation (preferred)

* Experience in Agriculture and/or Oil and Gas industry taxation

* Proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of JDE, SAP, Avalara AvaTax, Avalara Returns Excise, or comparable products

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
