The Senior Payroll Specialist will handle payroll processing and related tasks for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. They have the ability to work with clients with more complex accounting and payroll needs. 

Process payroll for multiple clients accurately and on time, ensuring all entries are correct and comply with relevant regulations

Maintain and update payroll records for clients, including employee information, hours worked, and deductions

Ensure all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Keep abreast of changes in payroll laws and regulations

Generate and distribute payroll reports to clients. Assist clients with payroll-related questions and provide guidance on payroll practices

Prepare and submit payroll tax returns, W-2s, and other related documents for clients. Ensure timely payment of payroll taxes

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll services. Provide exceptional customer service and support

Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Reconcile payroll accounts as needed

Use payroll software to process payroll and manage client accounts. Assist clients with software questions and troubleshooting

Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly and effectively

Onboard new clients into payroll software, including setting up correct wage, deduction, and benefit payroll items

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience required. 

3-5 years of payroll experience required 

Understanding of payroll laws and guidelines 

Strong technology skills 

Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines 

Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally 

Team player 

Ability to think innovatively
