Job Description
The Sr. Managing Director of Projects and Business development will be a key member of the Project Advisory leadership team providing a combination of proven construction project leadership experience and proactive business development outreach. The ideal candidate will have a reputation in the industry as a project “problem solver” and the drive to expand SOCOTEC’s client base through a targeted business development strategy including bringing established industry relationships to the business unit.
While the split between business development and project leadership is subject to change based upon client commitments and business needs, it is anticipated that the role will involve a 50/50 scope split as shown below. The position responsibilities include the following:
Business Development – 50%
Opportunity identification, screening and risk assessment
Initial contact/client engagement
Project site walk and needs assessment
Develop and present service proposals
Finalize engagement
Project Leadership – 50%
Provide overall leadership for project execution including:
Strategic problem-solving solutions to meet client needs
Project set up process including scope, reporting and document retention
Review of contracts, subcontracts and other contractual documentation
Evaluation of baseline schedule and assumptions
Review of estimates and cost reports
Support for technical evaluations and root cause analysis
Support contactor work scope development, evaluation and contract negotiation processes
Audit on-site construction progress evaluations
Preparation and/or review project status presentations and update reports
Support for monthly OAC meetings and lead Client Sr. Management communication
Oversite of change order and pay application administration
Oversite of project schedule management processes
Support damages quantification
Project QA/QC executive sponsor
Project close out
Mediation/litigation support as required
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
