Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Aviation Operations Lead to join our aviation program. This role is crucial in supporting mission planning, operational execution, and management of a dedicated team supporting day and night operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aviation operations, strategic planning, and project management.

Examples of duties include but not limited to:

Develop, coordinate, and implement mission operations plans for aviation programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and government regulations.

Analyze operational requirements and translate them into actionable plans, considering factors such as resource allocation, logistics, and timelines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, safety, and regulatory compliance, to ensure all aspects of mission planning are addressed.

Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Prepare and present operational briefings and reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis and operational trends.

Stay informed of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to continuously improve mission planning processes.

Participate in after-action reviews and debriefings to assess mission performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and procedures, including those from the FAA and military standards.

Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, PMP).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or advanced aviation technologies.

Familiarity with GIS and other planning software tools.

Prior experience working in government or military environments.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in aviation operations planning or a related field.

Prior customer experience

TS/SCI with poly

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
