Overview:

Expected pay for this position is $18.43 - $21.69/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides support to the residents, faculty and administration of the Dental General Practice Residency Program GPR: This includes providing assistance to dentists in providing quality and complete general dentistry to eligible children and adults according to the guidelines of the Illinois Dental Practice Act. This position requires the ability to use judgment and discretion in handling confidential communications and documents. Basic computer skills required.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification in Dental Assisting DANB, CDA, COA, CPFDA, CRFDA or equivalent preferred, graduate of an accredited dental assisting program, or a minimum of six months experience working as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice.

Work requires the interpersonal and communication skills to exchange information with and deal diplomatically with a variety of visitors, patients, staff, faculty and residents including Medical Center and GPR Program management staff.

Work requires analytical skills necessary to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems and prioritize work.

Must have the ability to multi-task in highly demanding situations.

Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
