Overview:

Certified Medical Assistant or Clinical Nurse - Sunnybrook Urgent Care

Sioux City, Iowa

PRN, as needed shifts (12 hours per month)

Nights/Weekends/Holidays

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments, exams, and treatments in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Take accurate patient histories, vital signs, and record them in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.

Administer injections, perform venipuncture, and assist with minor procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care) under the supervision of the healthcare provider.

Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, basic lab work, and respiratory treatments.

Provide patient education and discharge instructions, ensuring they understand their treatment and any necessary follow-up care.

Assist with triage, prioritizing patient care based on the severity of their condition.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling follow-up appointments, answering phones, and managing patient flow.

Qualifications:

Current Certification as a Medical Assistant or Current Iowa Nursing License.

High school diploma.

BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.

Prior ambulatory clinic or urgent care experience a plus!
