We are seeking Cost Engineers to support Utility and Airport customers throughout Southern California. These Utility providers will be both Natural Gas and Electrical Transmission providers. These are NOT remote jobs, so you must be living in the LA area. This is NOT REMOTE.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Monitor and forecast Engineering contractor costs.

Perform budgeting, quantity tracking of deliverables, analyze trends, update Cashflow forecasts (EAC) and report project performance (EVM – Earned Value Management).

Review progress reports, monthly invoices, work with AP to timely get these processed timely in SAP.

Monitor contractor’s staffing levels and productivity and take steps to minimize deviation i.e., potential cost overrun.

Compile monthly information with reference to cost status to incorporate into internal monthly report (Dashboards) for management review.

Support Owner reporting through the use of new internal reporting tool (Oracle based).

Proactively review RFI’s with Project Engineer to identify potential change order for cost impact.

Use EVM techniques to understand trends and report realistic EAC to management for swift decision making.

Perform review of engineering progress, collect data from functional team heads and report to PMT about progress.

Work actively with scheduling, attend all on-site meetings (as requested) with Eng Contractor and other Subs.

Support Estimating in review and development of AACE Class 3, 4 & 5 TIC estimates including development of full project lifecycle cash flows.

Support owner preparing Budget Planning, Monthly Variance Explanation, and Data Requests.
