Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating: Review blueprints, specifications, and design documents to develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.

Analyze Project Requirements: Assess the scope of the project, considering timelines, site conditions, and potential risks, to ensure the estimate is comprehensive and accurate.

Project Cost Control: Track project costs and compare actuals with estimates, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget.

Collaborate with Project Team: Work closely with project managers, engineers and other team members to understand project goals, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that the electrical design aligns with budgetary constraints.

Maintain Estimation Documentation: Organize and maintain records of estimates, project specifications, bids, and proposals for future reference and auditing.

Market Research: Stay updated on current market trends, labor rates, material costs, and advances in electrical systems and technology to ensure the accuracy of future estimates.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in project bids and ensure the contingencies are factored into estimates to safeguard IME’s profitability.

Qualifications:

Knowledgeable, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Eagerness to learn and grow

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment

Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software (Bluebeam, Live Count, Accubid, etc.)

Previous exposure to estimating with an understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and industry standards

Education & Experience:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related, preferred

1-3 years of estimating experience, preferred

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Benefits Overview:

IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package.  Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month after hire.  In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401k. 

Salary Range:  $65,000 - $82,000

 *Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
