Overview:

RES is looking for an Estimator I with 2 years of experience in civil construction. This position will be based out of our Raleigh, NC office.

The mission: The primary function of the Estimator I is to prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost breakdowns for private and public bid opportunities.

What your day-to-day might look like?:

A mix of reviewing & interpreting project documents, researching & gathering project costs, quantifying project materials, data entry & calculations, preparing bid packages, attending pre-proposal & bid opening meetings.

The main tasks to execute are the following:

Read and interpret construction plan sets, with an understanding of basic design concepts

Build and establish relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

Create material takeoffs and calculate quantities

Incorporate future pricing trends within estimations

Present estimates to the Sr. Estimator or management with clear explanations of how calculations were completed

Prepare bid packages

Qualifications:

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:

Strong understanding of mathematical concepts relative to civil construction estimating

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Strong verbal and written communication skills

High School degree or equivalent

2 years of experience in civil construction

Ability to document all stages of calculations

Experience in utilizing estimating software such as HCSS or Bid2WIN

MS Office

What will make you stand out?

BS/BA degree in civil construction OR environmental related field

Experience in working with state DOTs

Experience in utilizing Bid2WIN software

Experience in utilizing Agtek, Adobe, and or Bluebeam
