Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients served and collaborates with other members of the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse practices professional nursing by utilizing the nursing process and adheres to standards set forth in the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania and Grand View Health policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
• Promotes patient health and ensures patient safety through participation in hospital and unit specific safety initiatives
• Monitor patient condition by assessing needs in order to provide the best possible care and outcomes
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols
• Collaboration with team members to ensure that treatment and care are conducted according to hospital policy and procedure
• Expands knowledge and capabilities through continuing education
• Maintains a professional and cooperative relationship with the healthcare team by communicating information and participating in team problem solving
methods
• Fosters a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients, family members, and patient loved ones
• Maintains patients' confidence and confidentiality
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Vocational diploma Nursing Diploma minimum requirement required
Associate's Degree preferred
Over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse required
BSN preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated written communication skills, required
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills, required
- Effective interpersonal skills, required
- Ability to work as part of a team, required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, required
- Ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality. , required
