Materials Control Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for a full time Materials Control Supervisor role to join our team at Lincat. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to achieve the timely and adequate supply of materials required for our production plan.

Key Areas of Responsibility

* Manage the day to day running of the Materials Control team to ensure that adequate cover is maintained through careful planning and management of resources.

* Absence Management for the Materials Control Department.

* Run MRP on a Monthly basis, Raise Pos and Obtain Acknowledgements within 5 working days.

* To be involved in the LRQA audits.

* Learn how use the program crash recovery for Material Control systems.

* To support in the development of systems, processes and people within the department.

* Work with other departments to determine and fix inefficiencies.

* To Manage the Materials Control function, which includes: -

* Managing Safety stocks, overdue orders, acknowledgements, and proforma and invoice queries.

* Day to day component queries and stock adjustments.

* Issuing of instructions for production of parts and pot kits etc. within the factory.

* Lead the weekly shortage meeting with production.

* Arrange carriers to collect our components.

* Escalate supply Issues to Procurement team.

Department Liaison:

* Develop and maintain good working relationships with other internal departments and teams to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Materials Control and to resolve any issues that may arise.

Process Improvement:

* Work with key stakeholders to update and improve departmental and company processes and controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Understanding of Component planning systems

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Access

* Good level of Administration experience

* Accuracy and strong attention to detail with a good level of spoken and written English and numeracy.

* Strong Microsoft skills, particularly in Excel, Access and competency with IT systems generally.

* Must be able to demonstrate the tenacity to maintain drive and motivation in the face of challenges with the ability to work calmly under pressure

* Be able to work with the key stakeholders to help develop and bring change to our systems.

* Working closely with various departments, but mainly Production, Purchasing, Component Stores and Dispatch

* Excellent communication skills, able to establish and maintain effective and credible working relationships internally and externally at all levels.

* Able to work proactively and on own initiative to identify and prioritise workload, whilst understanding when to consult or seek advice.

* Be confident in building and developing a team and supporting the team on any decision-making queries.

Hours of work are 37.30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
