Purpose of the role

An excellent opportunity has become available to join CIL, as a Manufacturing Engineer in our Microelectronics department. The role will primarily involve; Coordinating and carrying out engineering activities, ensuring the requirements for a product line or product group are met and complied with. In line with forecasted output, product quality, adherence to specification and on time delivery.

Primary roles & responsibilities:

* Assist senior engineers and management in the execution of tasks for various engineering projects

* Work alongside other manufacturing engineers and more junior or graduate engineers on group day-to-day tasks, medium/long-term projects, training, mentoring and development

* Develop processes and help drive continuous improvement across the department

* Utilise standard documented procedures to continuously verify and validate manufacturing processes

* Ensure equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures are documented and reviewed regularly for accuracy and compliance

* Continuously develop training needs with line manager, to further enhance skills and knowledge and engage with training plans and courses advised

* Assist Production Teams in identifying training needs for new and current operators, and deliver training on equipment and processes, to help improve performance

* Support Production Teams in Technical matters; address technical issues, re-optimisation of process and trouble-shooting

* Ensure CIL documents and process are up to date and compliant in line with our customer requirements

* Assist Quality Engineers in investigating low quality products or customer returns, whilst collating evidence and data for 8D reports, to review and evaluate process risks for PFMEAs and support with company audits

* Support Senior Engineers and management with the introduction of new products and processes; evaluate new customer documents, generate assembly instructions and/or drawings, design jigs and fixtures, devise methods to measure, collect and evaluate data associated with special and/or critical characteristics

* Ensure key equipment remains operational by working with the maintenance teams to service and repair equipment as required, assist maintenance teams in the event of equipment breakdown and preventative maintenance routines

* Assist senior engineers and management in identifying and documenting, recording, and reporting on procedures, processes and key performance indicators

Experience & Qualifications

* Ideally 2 years+ experience working in a relevant manufacturing environment

* A Degree Level Qualification in the following would be an advantage; BEng/MEng in an engineering or scientific discipline such as electronics, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering

* It would be desirable to hold a HNC or HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
