SENDhelp is working with our partner school based in St Albans, to recruit a new Teaching Assistant.

The school is a 2-19 maintained special school that caters to up to 92 pupils, with a wide range of complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe developmental delay.

As the new Teaching Assistant, you will be working in a school that is passionate about their vision, which guides them in all that they do for the pupils. The school's motto is "Be kind, be responsible, Be the Best You Can."

The new Teaching Assistant will be working alongside teachers and other support staff who are professionally qualified at the forefront of curriculum delivery for children with Special Educational Needs.

SENDhelp is looking to recruit Teaching Assistants who will be not only working closely with specialist medical staff, including Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and pediatric nurses and doctors but also gaining skills for your career development.

The best way to learn about the school and the way it works is to arrange a paid trial day for our new teaching assistant to see the school in action.

The Role:

This role is advertised as a long-term vacancy with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

Have previous experience working with children preferably those with SEND
Be available to start as soon as possible
Have, or are willing to get an updated enhanced DBS check that can be verified through the updated service
Have a positive can-do attitude and be ready to engage with children and support their learning
