We have an open 2nd Shift Automotive Group Lead position and are looking for someone to join our company and oversee the Tool Room. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, the efficient operation of the tool room, and tools ready to meet daily projection schedules.
Responsibilities:
Manage the tool room and ensure smooth operations
Train and guide personnel in the proper use of the tool room equipment
Work closely with the TCM to maintain adequate inventory levels
Facilitate meetings to ensure a seamless transition between shifts
Manage department schedules to ensure ample staffing for production support
Oversee material flow in and out of the regrinding area and maintain inventory records in the ERP system
Provide retraining for team members as required
Assist in communicating critical tool supply updates to the internal team
Ensure compliance with internal and customer-specific procedures and processes
Maintain high standards of safety and good housekeeping within the tool room
Make decisions within established standards and procedures
Requirements
Experience working in automotive manufacturing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficient in MS Office Excel and Outlook
Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures and ability to understand and create process instruction sheets
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and with engineers, team members, suppliers, and our customer
Able to manage union personnel following communication guidelines and procedures
Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
Successfully pass the required pre-employment background check and drug screen
