Our juvenile probation supervisor is one of two who supervises and evaluates court officers; reviews and distributes work assignments; and ensures compliance with Court practices, evidence based practices, and department policies.

Additional duties include support of the direction, administration, and coordination of all office operations; mentoring staff; modeling evidence-based probation practices and providing skill development to probation officers; monitoring case planning, developing and reviewing case supervision plans and checklist, conducting case meetings, providing direct observation and feedback; modeling motivational interviewing; providing courtroom testimony; managing conflict via mediation and negotiation skills to facilitate resolution; contributing to short- and long-term strategic objectives of department researching, planning, and developing special projects and new programs; fostering effective communication; preparing reports, correspondence, data, analysis, records/documentation; maintaining utmost confidentiality; and attending meetings.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field OR bachelor's degree and at least 18 credits in the social sciences OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred. Candidates must hold Act 33, Act 42, and Act 114 clearances; and possess a minimum of three years' experience in juvenile justice and a working knowledge of courts, corrections, and/or law enforcement as well as county, state, and federal government; and a valid Pennsylvania driver's license without infractions that would prevent hire.
