Our Client is developing and building one of Europe's leading infrastructure projects which is highly complex and exciting.

This role is to ensure that the top down interface management capability is developed and implemented within internally its supply chain. The role will act as a focus point for strategic approach to technical interface management working with teams across the delivery organisations to ensure effective integration across disciplines and contracts.

About the role:

Lead the strategic approach throughout on interface management, working with all parts of the organisation to ensure that suitable resources, tools and process are in place;
Accountable for owning, updating and implementing the wide framework and processes in the Interface Management Plan;
Accountable for procurement, roll-out and maintenance of a wide software application for interface management;
Ensure that interface engineers/managers have the necessary skills and understanding to deliver interface management objectives. Ensure that competence levels for interface management are set out and that has appropriate competence to undertake the planned interface management work;
Where there are interface resolution issues, capture and prioritise the interfaces for escalation to the appropriate decision making group;
Provide training and guidance to the wider organisation on how to do effective interface management;
Develop and implement the use of best practice and innovative engineering techniques, technologies and processes, driving consistency and helping to identify opportunities for efficiencies across delivery teams;
Conduct audits of the application of interface management process internally and the supply chain. About You:

Skills

Able to provide specialist technical support and leadership on discipline-specific scientific, technical and engineering principles to project development / delivery teams, but knowing when to seek further guidance from other Subject Matter Experts or others.
Capable of being a Standard Owner, working under the guidance of the Standard Discipline Owner.
Meets minimum CPD requirement for professional institution every year.
Ability to communicate most discipline-specific technical ideas to colleagues, based largely on examples of application.
Ability to apply many principles relating to standards, safety and the environment and able to articulate the rest.
Applies principles and methods that ensure effective information management, modelling and data security; understands the approaches and consequences to data creation, transformation and visualisation and knowing when to seek guidance from other Subject Matter Experts or others.
Ability to define discipline specific criteria

Knowledge:

Applicable UK construction regulations including CDM requirements
Able to develop an understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework
Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements.
Experience of being able to develop understanding of many other disciplines
Chartered Engineer/Membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards with the equivalent experience is desirable but not essentialExperience

Experience in managing standards, engineering and safety activity on any engineering projects/ programmes.
Experience of managing competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications on any engineering projects/ programmesYou could be from either Rail, Nuclear, Heavy Industry, Oil and Gas, Waste Plants, or Aerospace markets as long as you have good communication, project management and Technical interfacing skills.
