Job Description

Process engineering position focused on manufacturing and testing Night Vision Goggles. A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment. They should have an understanding and apply Six-Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency. The individual can expect to spend time doing data analysis as well as engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor to be most effective.

 The Manufacturing Engineer position responsibilities include:

Working with and training bargaining unit employees to improve work processes and product quality.

Daily hand-on floor support to evaluate and to process floor reworks.

Optimizing manufacturing and testing processes/ equipment and implementing cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination).

Using data analytics techniques to help identify areas of concern to be worked on or areas of improvement.

Conduct root cause analysis.

Diagnosing process and equipment issues and working with maintenance teams to keep equipment running optimally.

Working to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity problems.

Using process equipment, test instruments, and precision gauges in appropriate situations.

Performing other duties as assigned.
