Job Description: We are seeking a qualified and will consider experienced or newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in residents.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with nursing home staff, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
• Educate and train staff and family members on communication techniques and strategies.
• Monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide support and counselling to residents and their families.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in speech and language therapy.
Requirements:
• A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is essential.
• Experience working with elderly individuals, particularly in a nursing home or similar setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
