Art Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Full Time – Mainstream Secondary School in Wigan

Cover People are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art Teacher to cover a maternity leave at a thriving mainstream secondary school in Wigan. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to inspire students and foster their creativity in a supportive learning environment.

Role:

Full-time Art Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Mainstream Secondary School in Wigan
Start Date: November 2024
Contract: Temporary, maternity cover
Responsibilities:

Teach Art across KS3 and KS4, following the school's curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity and artistic expression
Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support learning objectives
Work collaboratively with the Art department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
Participate in school activities, parent evenings, and relevant department meetings
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Previous experience teaching Art in a secondary school setting is desirable
A passion for teaching and the ability to engage students in creative activities
Strong classroom management skills
