Job Overview
As a Clinical Functional Assessor, you will play a vital role in the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) process. The WCA is a structured evaluation conducted by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to determine an individual's eligibility for financial support due to health-related issues. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting Thorough Assessments: Engage with individuals through telephone and face-to-face interactions to gather comprehensive information about their health conditions and how these impact their daily lives, including work capabilities. You'll conduct assessments in a respectful and supportive manner, ensuring that each individual feels heard and valued.
Collecting and Analyzing Information: Gather relevant medical histories, personal circumstances, and social backgrounds to create a holistic view of each individual’s situation. This includes reviewing existing medical documentation, discussing any challenges the individual faces, and understanding their living conditions.
Utilizing Clinical Knowledge: Apply your clinical skills and knowledge to evaluate how physical and mental health conditions impact an individual's ability to work. Writing Detailed Reports: Compile and document your findings in clear, structured reports that convey the necessary information to the DWP. Essential Person Specifications

Minimum 2 Years Post-Qualification Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of holding registration with the NMC or HCPC. This ensures that applicants have sufficient clinical exposure and understanding of patient care.
Strong IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and Teams is essential, as you will be required to navigate various software platforms for documentation and communication. Familiarity with electronic health records and assessment tools will be beneficial.
