Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Scada Engineers (Protection & Control) on a Permanent basis covering either the North West or North East Regions.

Role Overview

As a SCADA Engineer, you will work within an experienced SCADA and communications team to design, test, and deploy complex control solutions for UK transmission operator substations, work with offshore renewables customers to develop innovative solutions for offshore windfarms and design new solutions to cater for our future battery storage and hydrogen production solutions.

Responsibilities:
• You will develop project specific control system configurations including SCADA / HMI, RTU and communication systems, completed in accordance with employer requirements
• You will develop, configure and testing all functions of the SCADA system including data exchanges with third party interfaces / control centres, reporting and archiving.
• You will be responsible for the lifecycle testing of the control system including pre-FAT testing, FAT testing in the presence of the customer, site testing and commissioning of the control system, and handover testing.
• You will produce test documentation for each stage of testing.
• You will work to project schedules / specific achievements whilst maintaining cost performance and delivery quality.
• Your skills and qualifications
• University degree or equivalent experience in electrical, control, computer systems engineering.
• Working knowledge of control or SCADA engineering, preferably from the power industry
• Working knowledge of communication equipment and protocols commonly used in SCADA/control engineering
• Fluent English mandatory (spoken and written)
• Good team skills, initiative, and customer orientation
