Lodestone Recruitment are currently working in partnership with our client in Sheffield who have a requirement for an Assistant Buyer. The company is undergoing steady growth and has a plan to double in size within the next 5 years through internal growth and company acquisitions. They require someone with strong skills in buying and procurement to join a small team working under the Procurement Manager. There is opportunity for natural growth within the role as the company goes through this exciting period!
Candidates should have the following experience to be considered for the role:
Ideally have Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS).
Proven experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a similar procurement role ideally working in Engineering, Fabrication, Steel or similar.
Be driven to make cost savings across the business being able to source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and delivery speed.
Creating purchase orders and requests for quotations (RFQs)
Managing the procurement and organisation of approved consumables and non-inventory items, such as PPE, stationery, and packaging, across all sites nationwide.
Good use and knowledge of procurement software to carry out day to day duties.
The offer for the role of the Assistant Buyer:
An excellent competitive salary - £30-35k* dependent on experience
Hours - Choice of either 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-12:30pm Friday (35 hour week)
Regular days
Permanent position
Annual profitability bonus
Holidays - 25 days plus stats
