Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a knack for procurement? Our client, a rapidly expanding interior construction company, is seeking a personable and driven Buyer/Assistant Buyer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the success of a busy company by ensuring the efficient sourcing and management of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procurement : Support the procurement process by sourcing products and commodities, placing purchase orders, and managing requisitions in a timely manner.
* Order Replenishment: Utilize the company’s Order Replenishment System (MRP) to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure the smooth flow of materials.
* Supply Chain Optimization: Monitor and maintain KPIs to optimize supply chain performance, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
* Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and hauliers to confirm estimated arrival times, ensuring on-time delivery of materials.
* Cross-Departmental Communication: Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure material availability and timely deliveries.
* Reporting & Administration: Manage weekly reporting, handle purchasing queries, and stay on top of all purchasing and hiring activities.
What We’re Looking For:
* Procurement Experience: Previous experience in a procurement-based role, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
* Commercial Awareness: Strong business acumen and a cost-conscious approach, with a drive to implement improvements and add value.
* Attention to Detail: Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all procurement activities.
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with Order Replenishment Systems and experience using QuickBooks for managing orders and reporting.
* Proactive Attitude: A motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
