Blackstone Recruitment is looking for a Speech & Language Therapy Lead to join a SEN school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 7 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will join multi-disciplinary team, making this position suitable for both experienced professionals in special needs settings and newly qualified practitioners. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our therapists and other specialists, providing vital support to students

Role Details:

* Hours Per Week: Various

* Salary: Up to £60,000 dependent on experience (In line with NHS banding)

* Location: Surrey

* Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

* You will receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual young person's therapeutic and mental health needs.

* You will lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions continue to meet the needs of the YP and are consistent with the provisions detailed in their therapy plan.

* You will manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales.

* Ability to work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting, is essential

* A school lift/taxi service is available from Guildford Train station if required

Essential Criteria:

All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults
