Production Engineer required in Telford, Shropshire!!

Are you ready to take your engineering expertise to the next level? We are proud to be working with a longstanding manufacturing business in Telford to help them recruit an experienced Production Engineer to join their dynamic Product Engineering team.

This role is working a 39 hour working week (Monday to Friday), and it comes with an attractive annual salary up to £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

We are looking for someone who has come from a Plastics background and has experience within plastic injection moulding, die casting, pressing, and/or plastic (PVC) assembly.

This role offers a unique blend of technical challenges and the opportunity to make significant contributions to the company's success. With a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, you will be at the forefront of driving excellence in product engineering and manufacturing processes.

What You Will Do:

Coordinate and report on the introduction of new products, ensuring seamless project completion alongside the centralized purchasing group.
Create, manage, and oversee project plans for all ongoing projects, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet objectives.
Analyse maintenance histories to improve moulds and support the quality department in meeting product specifications.
Develop strategies for the maintenance, replacement, and repair of tooling to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Work closely with suppliers to propose manufacturing process improvements and solve assembly problems, aiming for cost reduction and quality enhancements.
Provide technical support and information for the introduction of engineering changes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project execution.
What You Will Bring:

Proven engineering experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection moulding, die casting, pressing, and assembly.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage tooling assets effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
A collaborative mindset, capable of working closely with suppliers and internal teams to achieve project goals.
