Overview:
Kimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a dynamic and energetic Human Resources Partner (HRP) for our Carolinas region. This is an office-based role in our Charleston, SC office. The HRP is responsible for providing core HR support to multiple offices in South Carolina, including Charleston, Greenville and Columbia.
In collaboration with others, the HRP proposes solutions and engages partners in the areas of employee relations, performance management, recognition, engagement and teambuilding, conflict resolution, career development, and retention efforts.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with supervisors and employees to drive strong work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement and retention
Provide HR guidance on various people matters; manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
Collaborate on day-to-day performance management (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions) and support the performance review process
Partner with leadership to oversee cultural integration initiatives, creating programs that promote an inclusive work environment conducive to integrating organizational cultures
Lead the integration planning for mid-level and senior new hires within assigned office(s)
Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve processes, employee engagement, and policy alignment across the region
Facilitate various development programs
Manage special projects that have impact across the region and organization
Support leaves of absence process, including FMLA and workers’ compensation
Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building
Demonstrated success in building internal trust and strong relationships with employees and business partners to improve collaboration, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Effective communication skills, with a personable and approachable demeanor; ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees at all levels within the organization
Flexible, including the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization and follow-through skills; ability to multi-task with limited daily supervision
Ability and desire to work collaboratively with team members within the region, as well as across the organization
Ability to maintain confidential information
Knowledge of, and ability to apply, applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Human Resources, or related field
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an HR generalist capacity, including experience leading employee relations, conflict resolution and investigations
Must currently be working in a role solely focused on HR and performing generalist duties, including emphasis on employee relations, not staffing/talent acquisition
Previous experience supporting employees across multiple offices and geographies strongly preferred; comfortable serving as the sole local HR contact
Valid driver’s license: ability to travel, sometimes overnight, to support the needs of the region
Proficiency in Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn HRIS system
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
Previous experience with UltiPro UKG preferred
Previous experience supporting professional services/consulting firm preferred
