Overview:

Oversees the clubhouse facility during the hours set by the Board of Directors and provides excellent customer service to residents.

The Club Attendant also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group.  He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customers.

Responsibilities:

DECK PATROL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DESCRIBTION

TITLE: DECK PATROL

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under close supervision of the club manager and head deck patrol, ensure the safety of all residents in and around the pool, monitoring swimmers to enforce all safety and association rules.

TYPICAL TASKS

Insures that safety standards, sanitary requirements, rules and regulations are enforced.  Maintains routine open and close pool reports. Maintains incident reports.  Performs rescues, performs first aid when needed.  Notifies club manager of all emergencies, disturbances and open and closing of pools immediately. (Only when head deck patrol is not on duty).

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Special Requirements/Qualification

·         Must have American Red Cross Training certification in First Aid, CPR and AED

·         Water rescue techniques including backboard rescue.

·         Strong swimming and life saving abilities.

·         Ability to communicate effectively with managers, residents and other employees.

·         Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification.

·         Must have flexible schedules, willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

·         Ability to work independently and posses’ energy and enthusiasm.

Work Schedule Time off

·         The pools are opened 365 days a year the pools do not close.

·         You are required to work on all Holidays if you are scheduled to work that specific vacation.

·         You will be allowed to take 1-week unpaid vacation during the year.

·          Vacations request must be requested 1 month in advance.  Do not plan to go on vacation until the time off has been approved by Mercy Ortega. 

·         If you are sick you will need to submit proof.

·         If you have a school activity you must attend, you will need to submit paper work from the school.

·         Once hired you will need to provide your school schedule to the head deck patrol. 

·         Once our monthly schedule is completed there will be NO CHANGES!!

·         If you can not commit to this type of scheduling, this job is not for you!



Duties

Keeps club manager well informed at

all times of everything having to do with pool closures, pool incidents, pool accidents and any resident issues.

Maintains constant surveillance of residents in the facility.

Never leave the pool deck unattended.

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times. Maintain a high standard of customer service.

Perform rescues under difficult conditions.

Ability to enforce the association pool rules, Lap Pool Rules, Slide Rules, Swim Lessons Policy, Pool Parties and special clubhouse events.

Communicate effectively with managers, residents and staff.

Independently make effective decisions.

Read, understand and explain Savanna pool rules, policies and procedures.

Attends mandatory meetings and training.

Daily open and close reports to club manager.

Accept constructive criticism and direction from supervisors.

Effectively deal with stressful and emergency situations.

Perform tasks requiring physical strength and/or stamina to effectively rescue victims, administer first aid, and CPR.

Hear and distinguish a variety of sounds in a noisy environment such as residents in need of assistance, whistles, or co-workers requesting assistance in a rescue effort.

See residents in need of assistance from any distances.

Effectively alert residents of impending danger (closing of the pools).

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time. Handle, grasp and lift objects and packages. Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word. Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions. Complete all required forms.
