Overview:

ANALYST II - ISSUES MANAGEMENT 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?This position will be responsible for supporting the development and operation of City National Bank's (the Bank's) Issues Management Program (IM) program as prescribed by the Risk Council. Responsibilities may include continuous improvement of issue management processes, centralized issue management oversight, and aggregated issues reporting across CNB.  Performs other duties/projects as needed. 

What you will doAssists in the risk-rating of quantitative models. Performs validation of quantitative financial or operational models according to a risk-based schedule and prepares validation reports. Tracks open model validation issues to completion.

May assist with the assessment of risks (including credit, market, business and operational risks) and facilitates the implementation and integration of risk management activities at all levels of the Bank.

May conduct or facilitate risk assessments, incorporating collaborative qualitative and quantitative analyses, to identify current and/or emerging risks.

Acts as an internal advisor/partner to Bank business units regarding risk management matters (e.g. model requirements, controls, risk management best practices, and industry developments.) Assists business units in the enhancement of controls, monitoring and performance measurement, as necessary.

Assists with the development, review, enhancement and implementation of related risk management policies, procedures, monitoring activities and controls.

May prepare status reports, key metrics and other risk-related and dashboard reporting in accordance with the iM program and ad hoc, as requested by management and/or the Risk Council.

Maintains awareness of the current regulatory/industry trends impacting the Bank’s risk management principles, policies and procedures.

Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Code of Conduct, Privacy, Bank Secrecy Act/Know Your Client, etc.).

Successfully completes all required training and special projects as requested.

IM Specific responsibilities:

Support Issue Management Group with continuous improvement of issue management processes, centralized

issue management oversight, and aggregated issues reporting across CNB.

Must-Have*

Minimum 5 years of risk mgmt., consulting or operations experience

Minimum 3 years of experience with reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, Brio or MS

Minimum 3 years of experience with quantitative data modeling, analysis or data management

Skills and Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree in risk, finance, mathematics or statistics or related discipline with 5+ years of risk management, consulting or operations experience.

Strong knowledge of risk management principles, financial modeling, and banking systems and processes required.

Must have quantitative modeling or analysis and data management skills.

Must possess project management skills and the ability to facilitate change through collaborative effort.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical and written communication skills.

Extensive knowledge and experience with various reporting and analysis tools including Excel, Brio and MS Access required.

Demonstrated ability to develop/run complex queries and create reports and presentations.

CompensationStarting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
