Location: Wakefield
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance (circa £5000)

Job Description: As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in the pre-construction phase of the projects. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Main Responsibilities:

Accurate and Thorough Estimates: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, considering all relevant factors such as labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project timelines.
Cost Analysis: Analyse and evaluate bids and proposals received from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
Project Planning: Collaborate with our project management and engineering teams to provide cost input during project planning and development stages.
Budget Management: Support the project team in monitoring project budgets, providing timely cost reports, and recommending cost-saving measures without compromising safety and quality.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Ideally some experience as an Estimator or Sales candidate in the construction industry, with a focus on highways or civils sector - (this is negotiable!)
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities
Team Player: A collaborative approach to work, with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Time Management: Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying potential challenges during estimating and proposing practical solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in relevant software and tools to expedite the estimating process.Notes:
My client would consider a graduate candidate with a relevant qualification or a candidate with little to no experience and transferable skills.
