LINKS Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Junior Design Engineer to join our established client in Cardiff
Job Purpose:
As a Junior Design Engineer, your main responsibility will be to program the manufacturing process for a range of products, specifically door sets, based on customer specifications.
Reporting To:
Day to Day reporting to the Manufacture Team Leader
Responsibilities:
· Use appropriate programming software to create programs for punch and water jet machines.
· Comply with drawing office standards, ensuring models are drafted and documented correctly to prevent corruption of master models in Driveworks/Solidworks.
· Communicate non-standard manufacturing requirements to the Production office, including necessary drawings, and update job descriptions in the Epicor system for the assembly team.
· Assist in resolving manufacturing issues related to the design of specific doors.
· Investigate the causes of non-conformance and customer complaints, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
· Ensure that manufacturing drawings and programs are issued and controlled in line with ISO9001 standards.
Key Skills:
· Confident and professional when interacting with senior team members.
· Strong ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Systematic and logical approach to tasks, with excellent problem-solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in general IT, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Qualifications & Experience:
· Experience in CNC programming using software tools like Radan, Lantech, or E-coder.
· Working knowledge of ERP systems for managing manufacturing processes.
· Experience in the design or manufacturing of sheet metal products.
· Familiarity with punching and folding processes in sheet metal production.
Hours of work
07:30 – 16:00 Monday - Thursday and 07:30-14:00 on a Friday
