We are currently recruiting an experienced SEND English teacher to work in an independent Secondary SEND school in Bexley on a full-time basis ASAP.

The Role

In this role you will teach English classes for students within Key Stage 3 within this specialised alternative setting. There are a range of learners who will working at various levels within the small classes you will be teaching. All learners require a bespoke approach and highly adaptive access to the curriculum. You will have a team of support staff in the class to allow for emotional and behavioural support. Alongside teaching English, the role will also include teaching PSHE.

The school are looking for a teacher who has previous experience teaching English and is open to working in a challenging setting, with a restorative and flexible approach. You will need to be patient and be able to build a strong rapport with the students. Experience in similar settings is preferable, along with a calm and resilient approach.

The school are open to applications from both qualified teachers and unqualified teachers with experience in the SEND sector.

The School

This independent alternative provision provides high-quality education and care for up to 45 learners with a range of behavioural needs and are unable to attend mainstream settings. The school focuses on making a difference to learners lives through a holistic approach which includes counselling sessions, Speech and Language Therapies and a range of extra-curricular activities. There is an established leadership team in place and the school is part of a larger group of specialist school settings and offers staff continued CPD, career progression and a health benefits scheme.

The school is located in Bexley over two sites both of which are accessible by public transport and have onsite parking,
