Job Description

The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing cleaning, sanitation, laundry, and floor care operations within the community.

This position is accountable to Facilities Services Director

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.

Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.

Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.

Responsible for the leadership of the environmental services team to ensure that work techniques, quality standards, departmental policies and procedures, and job specifications are followed.

Develops and manages an effective scheduling process and program to ensure residents have clearly defined and communicated cleaning schedules, as well as ensuring appropriate cleaning schedules of common areas on the campus.

Supervises daily operations of the department and direct staff. Duties include screening applicants, hiring and training new staff members, motivation, time management, and any coaching or corrective action necessary for improvement. Establishes and is accountable for department goals and objectives.

Encourages positive team relations among staff and facilitates and streamlining of services when appropriate, including leadership and facilitation of regular team meetings.

Assists with the selection, coordinates, and monitors applicable contracted services.

Oversees administration of environmental training programs, customer/resident relations, and support of the budget administration.

Develops, submits, and monitors the annual department budget to ensure proper utilization of resources. Evaluates new products while adhering to purchasing guidelines and budget parameters.

Develops and implements efficient and productive cleaning methods in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.

Identifies and implements best practices to generate new and innovative ideas for the department to improve services and reduce costs.

Assists with development of written departmental policies, standards, procedures, and corresponding forms as necessary.

Responsible for the attractive appearance of the independent, assisted, and skilled nursing facilities’ building interiors and ensuring the readiness of apartment homes and resident rooms for occupancy by new residents.

Ensures the effective and efficient use of housekeeping and laundry equipment and maintains an appropriate inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies.

Responsible for ensuring timely response to resident ideas, concerns, and suggestions related to the department to promote resident satisfaction. Includes, but not limited to, the development of resident needs profiles and adherence to meeting individual needs of each resident or service area.

Responsible for developing quality assessment tools and conducting periodic reviews and inspections to assure efficient, appropriate, and high quality service.

Investigates reported housekeeping related issues or concerns from residents or staff. Develops appropriate action plans for ongoing improvement.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and local government codes and guidelines.

Prepares metric reports related to hours of services, census, etc.

Responsible for other duties as needed.
