Overview:

This position is a machine operator responsible for the packing quality feed, checking weights, and maintaining product stack quality. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production and highest product integrity.

Responsibilities:

Operate packaging systems and lines

Coordinate the efficient use of packaging materials and correct product labeling.

Clean-up left-over product around tanks and other equipment.

Load/Unload trucks cars with forklift.

Operate forklift and other equipment to support production on a daily basis.

Stack bags of product in a concise and consistent manner.

Operate augers, belt-driven machinery, and elevators used in the production process.

Operate various machinery to support production.

Cross-train with other departments to provide consistency throughout the Company.

Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.

Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.

Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Qualifications:

Two years manufacturing experience, preferably in a warehouse/sacking environment

Forklift experience; certification preferred.

Warehouse experience preferred.

Basic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, and other equipment used in the production process.

Skills:

Understanding of machine operational processes and procedures.

Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Pro-active, self-motivated, and honest.

Forklift certification preferred.

Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirments:

Continuously lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50-pounds; regularly lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 75-pounds.

Continuously shovel material.

Frequently climbs ladders; occasionally works at heights of 100 feet.

Frequently stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position.

Vision sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks.

Environment:

Continuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.

Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment.

Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.

Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.

Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

The pay range for this position is $19.50/hr - $21.75/hr. The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.

Note:  Valid Driver’s License required for insurance purposes. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.
