Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician on a 6-Month contract based in Stafford.
This position is INSIDE IR35
Job Description Summary
As one of the Quality Assurance Technicians for Stafford, you will be responsible for assessing manufacturing quality compliance within the HVDC and FACTS manufacturing facility in Stafford. This will involve coordinating with the Production teams to conduct final inspection activities, conducting sample inspection activities throughout production to verify compliance to standards, performing production auditing, managing reported defects to product or process through the NCR process, and supporting Continuous Improvement for the department.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (e.g., dial callipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometres, gauges, etc.) as required within the department.
2. Perform final quality inspection and incoming inspection.
3. Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure the quality of products.
4. Perform visual and dimensional inspections and manage the area of the parts.
5. Ensure the quality of parts meets specification requirements.
6. Prevent non-conforming parts from proceeding to the next workstation.
7. Collect data and provide feedback on the quality of parts inspected to the Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers.
8. Identify and document non-conforming parts.
9. Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to requirements.
10. Work with team members to find creative solutions to address complex problems.
11. Investigate defects and coordinate with Engineering and supplier quality engineers to manage rework/scrap/investigation as necessary.
12. Perform and support internal quality audits.
Required Qualifications
* Relevant Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment, or 5+ years of related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment.
* Fluent in English.
* Experience in using manual and automated measurement and test equipment for dimensional inspection activities.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Desired Characteristics
* Strong desire to learn and keep updated on regulations and standards.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Able to manage priorities and escalate concerns as necessary.
* Competent user of PC and software applications such as Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.
* Experience in Problem Solving methodologies (A3, 8D, etc.) is a benefit.
